It's a Dog's Life...

When we got home this evening, we noticed a dog in the yard. We have a girl dog named Gracie, so we kinda wondered what the stray was doing in the yard...
Jacob piped up and said, "Moma, that's a male dog."
I replied, "Really...? How do you know?"
Jacob replies, "Because I just know moma."
After thinking for a minute and trying to figure out how he would know it was a male dog, I said, "Jacob, exactly what does a male dog do?"
Jacob and all his wits replied..."Moma...he helps the mailman deliver the MAIL...he's a MAILDOG!"

Boy was I was VERY relieved!

A Crooked Cricket

After trimming Logan's hair this morning, I told him it was a little crooked.
He said "Cricket moma? My hair has a little cricket?"
I laughed and told him it was crooked.
He asked me if it was gonna be ok.
I replied that I might have to trim one little spot.
He says very seriously, "Are they jumping around?"
Laughing, I said no.
He then asks, "Are they real...or fake?"

My child now thinks he has crickets hiding in his hair.

Loganisms

Moma...is Jacob getting out of "cool" in a "foo" minutes?

We were in the store the other day and Logan picked up some eye makeup and said...
Moma...this is for your "eyebro's."

You know Momma...

When I picked Jacob up from school yesterday, he got in the truck and informed me that there was going to be a new movie coming out about a dog. He told me that he wanted to see it. Then he says, "Moma, we have to go to the movie theater, you know, that place with the REALLY big tv."

More Boy Conversations

On the way home from Walmart we passed a cow pasture.

Logan: Moma, I know what cows eat.

Me: (Very enthusiasticly) You do?

Logan: Yep. They eat grass!

Me: How do you know that?

Logan: Because, Moma, I'm Smart!

Boy Conversations

We went to Walmart tonight to pick up a few groceries. While we were getting in the truck I told the boys to look at the moon...it was very large...and quite beautiful. After admiring the sight we went to Walmart. Fast forward about two hours, we were coming out of Walmart with more than just the few things we went in for. Fred and I were trying to get the bags loaded into the back of the truck and the boys were being quite rambunctious. I told them to look at the moon again, as it was higher in the sky and was a little hazy looking. Logan looks at me with his very adamant look and says..."Momma...that moon followed us all the way to Walmart!"

Boy Conversations

Logan got up this morning at about 10 am. What a life! Upon getting up, he came and sat in my lap and gave me a big hug. I told him I loved him and this is what followed:

Logan: I love you too!

Me: Who else do you love?

Logan: Daddy....and Jacob...

Me: Anyone else?

Logan: I love Jesus and Preacher John too!

I love my loveable boy!

Logan-isms

Instead of something scaring the crap out of you...

Logan says...

"Moma, that scared the CRACK outta me!"

Representing America

As I sit here and watch Michael Phelps receive his 8th gold medal, I wanted to share another "boy conversation."

We were in Walmart yesterday, and were walking down the clearance aisle. We came across an American flag, that when you pressed the button played the national anthem....to which Logan replied...Moma....it is the Phelps song!!

Recipes

I don't know about anyone else, but we have had a time with ants this year. They have been terrible!! Needless to say, we have had lots of bug/ant spray around here. What does this have to do with a recipe you ask? Yet another boy conversation follows...

Jacob: Moma, I know how to make bug spray.

Me: You do?

Jacob: Yeah. You catch a poisonous snake and chop him up into pieces so small you can't see him anymore. Then you put him in a can and add some water to it. Then you have bug spray. The poisonous snake kills the bugs and ants.

Makes sense to me!

Boy Conversations

Jacob: Logan, you look like Patrick. (From Spongebob)
Logan: I don't look like Patrick, I look Like Logan.
Jacob: You do look like Patrick!
Logan: I DO NOT look like Patrick....I have a BIG head!

Jacob: (After watching a commerical) Moma, I CAN make a mess! You wanna know why?
Me: Sure, Jacob, why?
Jacob: Because Clorox cleans up messes...thats why!

I think he forgets who has to use the clorox to clean up the mess!
