Ok, yea, so after the last post, I guess I am really fired! Especially since it was almost a whole year ago. Life sometimes seems to fly right past you without being able to come up for air! This year has created many wonderful memories and this time, I PROMISE I will update our happenings from the last year. It might take me a little while and several posts, but I promise to get to current events, pictures included!

Goodbye 2009
Ok...So...I am fired when it comes to keeping up with this thing! I am hoping to have some time to update everyone with the happenings of 2009 over the next few days. Hopefully...I will be able to keep up a little better this year so that we can share our stories and memories with family and friends! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and is looking forward to a Blessed and Prosperous New Year!!

Ponderings
How terrible is it that today I put $15 in gas in my truck and was TOTALLY excited that it gave me a whole 7 gallons? That's right....after it being almost $4.00 a gallon for some time, gas is currently down to $2.08! Should I be excited...or disgusted that it went to $4.00 a gallon to begin with?

Fort Bragg Fair
We enjoyed a night at the Fort Bragg Fair last night. We had a great time. Logan refused to get on any ride including the Merry-Go-Round, until we strapped him on a horse (with him unwilling) and made him ride. I know the man at the merry-go-round probably thought I was a mean mommy for making him ride...but it served its purpose and he survived! Once he figured out it was actually kinda cool, he wanted to ride every ride out there! He even rode the tilt-a-whirl twice...back to back! On the way out, Ft. Bragg soldiers has a zip line and a wall that you could climb down with a rope. Jacob did a great job...no fear on either one. They strapped Logan up and he climbed the stairs to the top of the wall. When the soldier told him to take a step backwards off the wall, Logan looked at him like he had lost his mind. The soldier noticed Logan had Spiderman shoes on. He told Logan that Spiderman climbed backwards down walls. Logan informed him (in a VERY matter of factly way) that Spiderman didn't climb backwards...and he wasn't either. It was very funny to watch and hear and many of the other people thought it was quite comical that Logan was giving this guy a lecture on Spiderman!

Time for an Update
Things around here have been somewhat routine lately...if you can believe that. Jacob's day consists of getting up, going to school, homework, playing, and bedtime. Logan has had lazy bones and has been sleeping in every morning. (Which works out great for me because I can get more done!) When he finally gets up, he has to get his daily dose of cartoons, and eventually it is off to pick Jacob up from school. He enjoys playing with Jacob after homework is over. Jacob is doing very well in school. He has made a 100 on all of his spelling tests and reads just about everything he can get his hands on.
Becca and I have tackled the Christmas play for this year at church. We are very excited about it and know that it will serve the purpose God has planned it for. We have a great group of kids and look forward to working with them and having fun while putting together this very important story.
Fall is definitely in the air! We have had temperatures in the 70's during the day and 50's at night. I love the crisp, fresh air. I am almost ready to put up our fall decorations and go on the "perfect" pumpkin hunt.
As you can tell from a few previous posts, I am on a baking kick. I have been working on some cake decorating and today even made some homemade shortbread cookies. They are delicious!
I have also been busy planning for a big photo shoot for the holidays. The date is November 1st at the McDonald Building in Carthage. I will have fall, Christmas, and traditional backgrounds available. So...if it is time to update that family picture from 10 years ago...or just need pictures of the kids to send out in cards for the holidays, let me know and we can definitely get you on the schedule!
And...my sister Lisa and my nephew Conner will be visiting us at the end of the month!! I am very excited and can't wait! Don't worry...you will get to see them...I am positive I will be out showing off my adorable nephew! He is a sweet boy and loooves his Aunt Carrie!

Vacation Days are Over...
Grandma has left to go back home!! The boys stood on the front porch as the car left and waved good bye until Mom, David, and Scooter were out of sight. Jacob then piped up and said..."I don't want Grandma to leave!!" We had to explain that she had to go home and he would hopefully see her again very soon. She is driving back to Norfolk tonight, and will leave very early in the morning on a flight back to Amarillo. Please keep her in your prayers for a safe trip.
We had a great time while she was here. It was great to have her all to ourselves, as the last few times we have seen her, we had to share the attention...lol! I really hope we can do it again soon...more often and maybe one day on a more permanent basis!! I love ya moma!!

Beginnings and Endings
The school year is finally over, even though in many ways it seems that it just began. The years fly by so fast and and you barely realize it until you are looking back reminiscing about how small your kids once were. I am very blessed to be able to spend so much time with my boys. Even though some days are crazy and hectic, I can still sit back and watch their sweet simplistic lives as they continue to grow and blossom.....boy, am I blessed!
