Vacation Days are Over...

Grandma has left to go back home!! The boys stood on the front porch as the car left and waved good bye until Mom, David, and Scooter were out of sight. Jacob then piped up and said..."I don't want Grandma to leave!!" We had to explain that she had to go home and he would hopefully see her again very soon. She is driving back to Norfolk tonight, and will leave very early in the morning on a flight back to Amarillo. Please keep her in your prayers for a safe trip.
We had a great time while she was here. It was great to have her all to ourselves, as the last few times we have seen her, we had to share the attention...lol! I really hope we can do it again soon...more often and maybe one day on a more permanent basis!! I love ya moma!!

Lazy Days of Summer

Ok...I have to admit it...I have not blogged in several days because, well, we haven't done anything out of the ordinary! We have been stuck at home (due to a $525 fuel pump being replaced in the truck) for close to 2 weeks now. Ugh! Any idea how stir crazy you can go from staying at home? However....the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter! My truck is supposed to be finished this evening (waahoo), and my mom, David, and Scooter will be here any minute. Scooter will be here for the weekend, and moma and David will be here for a week. Moma is coming down to spend some time with David before he deploys in August. I am sure we will have lots of exciting stories to tell over the next week or so, so be sure to stay tuned...

I Thought my Life was Hard...

I went through the boys toys today in an effort to clean and straighten their disaster they call a room...lol! I found lots of arms....and legs, people missing limbs that have been stuck in the toy box dungeon with no medical care, wheels, a few I'm not sure whats, and lots of other what could be scary stuff. I have come to the conclusion that toys should definitely come with hazard pay....lol. They are kicked, dropped, put in misc. roles that are not in their particular job description, slobbered on, endure bodily harm and damage, and many other things I am almost afraid to think about! And I thought my life way hard....

Summer Vacation

Today is the first official day of summer vacation! Yea! I think Jacob is enjoying it as I have bent a few rules...like bedtime...Jacob and I sat up until about 1 am this morning laughing and giggling until his giggled himself to sleep! (Almost literally)! This morning has brought eating pop tarts while dressed in Spiderman Costumes, and watching cartoons! What a life!

Beginnings and Endings

The school year is finally over, even though in many ways it seems that it just began. The years fly by so fast and and you barely realize it until you are looking back reminiscing about how small your kids once were. I am very blessed to be able to spend so much time with my boys. Even though some days are crazy and hectic, I can still sit back and watch their sweet simplistic lives as they continue to grow and blossom.....boy, am I blessed!

Happy Days

After a day full of visiting friends, cartoons galore, birthday dessert at Ruby Tuesday's and a night out at Chuckie Cheese, Logan seemed to have had a great day. Of course he was really really tired when we got home and was asleep after a short second wind. (He had to play with his prizes he won at CC!) Thank you to Ola, Eli, and Annie for sharing Logan's special day with us! We look forward to seeing everyone else Saturday at the birthday party!

Pictures...as promised!

Summer

I love summer!
Summer is hot.
It's sun and shade.
It's water to wade.
It's frogs and bugs.
It's grass for rugs.
It's eating outside.
It's a tree-swing ride.
It's tomatoes and corn.
It's dew in the morn.
It's dogs and boys
And lots of noise.
It's a hot sunny sky.
It's summer.
That's why.....I love summer.
